     Welcome to
The Shadecrafters Club!
As many of you know, our discussion board was broken down for quite some time before being relaunched in August of 2007, but it had always been quite active prior to the crash. However, we also always had a separate club site for the supply sources, how-tos, and almost everything else, with a lot of members who never visited the board, and many who did, didn't participate.

I thought that merging the two sites together would spring the board quickly back to life, more active than ever before. So much for great ideas. Members do come by, and there've been little bursts of conversation, but for the most part, no one's posting anything. Although I haven't received any complaints, I still thought it best to go back to the way things used to be. I hope you enjoy the new site!

Although I've only had the chance to speak to a small number of our members, from this sampling I can say that most of you have plenty in common, and the board now has forums on a wide variety of topics, just waiting to be filled with interesting new posts. We have members all over the world (see where in the Community Center), and some wonderful friendships have begun on our board. Please go by and introduce yourself, ask a question, make a comment, add pictures of your shades and/or lamps to the Members Galleries, share a good recipe, talk about your garden, tell a good joke . . .

If you've never been on the board before, you'll need to register. The how-tos are provided on the registration page (link at bottom left of the board opening page). If you're already registered, but can't remember your log-in details, or can't remember if you're registered, please get in touch. If using AOL, and you can't log in, please let me know, but first try using Internet Explorer opened directly from your computer, rather than accessing the Internet via the AOL site. Of course, also let me know if you have any other problems logging in at maude@shadecrafters.com (with Board Log-In as the subject).

The shades on display  Hover over the banner on each page to find out who the shade was made by. These shades were chosen from photos sent to me by club members over the years. If you have a shade you'd like displayed, please post it in the Members Gallery, and I'll choose shades from there. There are instructions on how to do this in the Club Office.
